It’s Here, The New Timber Processing & Enegy Expo That Is!

The event opened its doors this morning to primary producers of lumber, panels, engineered wood products and wood energy. More than 160 exhibitors are participating in Hall D of the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Ore.

Those wishing to attend can register on-site for the event, which is hosted by Timber Processing, Panel World and Wood Bioenergy magazines. TP&EE runs today through Friday, with show hours 9-5 today and Thursday, and 9-3 on Friday.

VIDEO BROADCASTS PLANNED FROM NEW PORTLAND SHOW

Organizers of the new Timber Processing & Energy Expo announce that a video broadcast report will be aired from the event each afternoon.

TP&EE is scheduled October 17-19, Wednesday-Friday, at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Oregon. Nearly 170 exhibitors have signed up to display their technologies and services to primary producers of lumber, engineered wood products, panels and wood energy.

Hatton-Brown Media, an affiliate of show producer, Hatton-Brown Expositions LLC, will assemble, produce and air 10 minute video broadcasts each afternoon at 4 p.m. Central Standard Time. The broadcasts will include video of the expo floor and interviews with exhibitor personnel and mill attendees.

The broadcasts can be viewed by visiting the ‘Video Coverage‘ section of this website, located in the main menu. A promotion video broadcast is currently viewable in this section, featuring Show Director and Hatton-Brown Publishers editor-in-chief Rich Donnell.

SPOTLIGHT IS ON VENEER LATHES & DRYERS DURING WORKSHOP DAY

It’s not too late to sign up for the Workshop Day seminars during the Timber Processing & Energy Expo to be held October 17-19 at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Oregon. Panel World magazine is one of the host magazines of the event, which will include 160 exhibitors of machinery and technologies catered to primary producers of panels, engineered wood products, lumber and wood energy.

Workshop Day will be held Thursday, October 18. One of the major subjects is Veneer Lathes & Dryers. Four presentations during the morning include: Lathe Line Technologies, Implementation and Integration; Motion Control for Veneer Lathes; Dryer Tune-Ups: The Low Hanging Fruit; and Advances in Veneer Dryer Optimization. Specialists from several machinery manufacturers will address these topics.

Workshop Day also includes sessions on Wood Dust Issues & Technologies and Wood Energy Systems, as well as Sawmill Scanning & Optimization, and Machinery Alignment & Sawing Systems.

Registration for Workshop Day is $75, and includes admission to all of the seminars, a pass to walk the expo floor during the entire event; and a ticket for a free beer and bratwurst at the Beer Garden on site.

EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND DURING TP&EE

Sawmill Scanning & Optimization is one of the featured subjects planned for the Workshop Day of the upcoming Timber Processing & Energy Expo to be held at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Ore. The machinery expo will be held October 17-19. Workshop Day is planned for October 18.

Several presentations will address various technologies in sawmill scanning/optimization, ranging from scanning at primary breakdown to lumber grade scanning on the back end. Other featured subjects include Machinery Alignment & Sawing Systems, Wood Dust Issues & Technologies, Veneer Lathes & Technologies and Wood Energy Developments. Fifteen presentations in all will address these subjects.

The cost to register for Workshop Day is only $75 and includes admission to any of the presentations. For more details on the presentations and presenters, locate ‘Workshop Day Info’ in the menu. To register for the conference, simply click on ‘Register’ in the menu at the left, then click on the ‘Attendee Registration’ banner, fill out the required information and select the ‘Workshop/Conference’ as your preferred registration.

Those not interested in attending the Workshop have two registration options: one is for free registration to walk the show floor, and the other is a $10 fee which includes a “beer and a bratwurst” at the Beer Garden in addition to a pass to walk the show floor. All attendees are asked to register through the show web site.

Organizers of TP&EE also announce that prior to the machinery show, Forest Products Society–Southeast has organized a series of day long Short Courses to be held October 16 at the Red Lion Hotel, Jantzen Beach. Participants include Oregon State University, Georgia Research Institute, Wood Machining Institute and Forisk Consulting.

The Forest Products Society-SE short course program is a separate fee structure and separate event from the Workshop Day scheduled during the TP&EE machinery event.

Workshop Day includes 14 presentations under the titles of Sawmill Scanning & Optimization, Wood Energy Developments, Wood Dust Issues & Technologies, Machinery Alignment & Sawing Systems, and Veneer Lathes & Dryers. The sessions will be held in meeting rooms overlooking the show floor.

To view the agenda, locate ‘Workshop Day Info’ in the menu bar, and then click on ‘Workshop Day Presentations’ in the drop-down menu.

To register for the workshop day, click on ‘Register’ in the menu, then click on ‘Attendee Registration’, fill out the required information and check off Workshop Day. Cost to attend any and all of the Workshop Day presentations is $75, which also allows full access to the expo floor for the entire event, as well as a beer and a bratwurst at the show floor Beer Garden.

Organizers of the new Timber Processing & Energy Expo, to be held October 17-19, have announced an updated lineup of presentations for Workshop Day to be held Thursday, October 18. TP&EE, which will be held at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Ore., is hosted by Timber Processing, Panel World and Wood Bioenergy magazines and Hatton-Brown Expositions LLC.

Fourteen presentations are now scheduled under the subject titles of Sawmill Scanning & Optimization, Veneer Lathes & Dryers, Wood Energy Systems, Wood Dust Technologies & Issues, and Machinery Alignment & Sawing Systems.

The presentations will be held in meeting rooms overlooking the expo floor.

The lineup of speakers and more information on their presentations can be viewed by navigating to the ‘Workshop Day Info’ menu option. The actual time slots for the presentations will be released soon.

Registration cost for Workshop Day is $75. This includes admission to any of the presentations, as well as an expo floor pass for the entire event, and a beverage and bratwurst ticket at the Beer Garden on the show floor.

Register for Workshop Day by selecting ‘Register’ in the menu and then clicking on the ‘Attendee Registration’ bar, and proceed to complete the registration information.

Those not interested in participating in Workshop Day can also register for the expo by following the same instructions. For simply attending the expo, attendees can either pay $10, which includes a ticket for a beverage and a bratwurst, or register for Free to simply walk the floor.
