Burton Saw and Supply
Jason brings more than 20 years of experience in the lumber processing and distribution markets, and is second generation in the wood products industry. He previously was general manager and sales manager of International Wood Products, Tumwater, Wash.; general manager and sales manager of Cascade Capital, Tacoma, Wash.; and gained sawmill experience at Cowlitz Stud Co. at Randle and Morton, Wash.
Before founding Eight, as GM of Electronic Arts and previously cofounder and president of Radical Entertainment, Rory managed 1500+ staff studios and oversaw some of the world’s biggest and most successful video game franchises, including FIFA and Harry Potter. Rory jumped back into creating new technology for new industries by founding Eight Solutions, which originally had its start in doing 2D to 3D conversion for blockbuster Hollywood films. In creating the conversion technology and working with Hollywood, Rory realized that the technology and philosophy of big data in entertainment could quickly be applied beyond entertainment borders.
Director of Production
A 20-year vet of high tech with strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills, as former exec producer at EA, Bill oversaw FIFA and Need For Speed which together generated more than $750 million per year. Bill brings his experience in entertainment and marries that with a broader experience in driving simple, visual solutions, for problems with vast amounts of raw data.
Chief Technology Officer
Norvin studied Robotics & Automation in BC. He is a software specialist, has developed different machine vision and optimization systems for high speed manufacturing processes and has implemented many such systems in sawmills.
With more than 10 years of experience in the pellet industry, Forcus is a Sales Manager with a specialization in Renewable Energies from the University of Zaragoza, Spain. As a Sales Manager for Prodesa, he has participated in hundreds of pellet plant projects around the world, helping clients with the different stages of a project’s life. Forcus is based at Prodesa’s office in Alpharetta, Ga., from where he is responsible for the North American market.
R&D New Product Development
Ron is best known as a pioneer of the curve-sawing gang that impacted the sawmilling landscape beginning in the mid 1990s. He has brought numerous other innovative products to the sawmill industry such as a saw guide lubrication system, slew and skew double length infeed, high speed edger and true shape profiler. He has been awarded 25 plus patents on sawmill related inventions. Ron joined Bid Group when he sold his WaneShear Technologies business to Bid Group in late 2015. Previously he operated McGehee Equipment, MaxiLube systems and Ukiah Machine. He graduated with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1976 from UC Davis.
Dr. Stefan Möhringer
Simon Möhringer Engineering GmbH
Stefan studied business administration/mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt and the Ecole Centrale de Lyon. In 1992 he entered the family enterprise as a fourth generation. Parallel to his industry activity he did a doctorate about computer science in 1998 at the TU Darmstadt. Since 1996 Stefan has been managing director of Möhringer. With the take-over of Braun-Canali band saw technology in 1999, the enterprise offers the complete product range with all sawing technologies for sawmills and woodworking enterprises. Stefan is a member of the executive board of the association of Germans Plant Engineering companies (VDMA). He teaches as an honorary lecturer for mechanical engineering at the University of Paderborn.
Delta Computer systems
Peter has more than 25 years of experience developing industrial control systems for hydraulic, electric, pneumatic and vision applications. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1975 with a BSEE and served in the U.S. Navy until 1980. He became president of Delta Computer Systems, Inc. in 1992. In addition to leading Delta’s engineering and R&D programs, his articles are published in industry publications such as Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Machine Design. He has also presented technical papers for IFPE, NFPA, FPDA and various global technical conferences.
Chief Financial Officer
Ellen joined Lucidyne in 1987. She has a degree in Finance from Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Oregon State University. In addition to her responsibilities as CFO, Ellen takes an active role in the company’s marketing functions, including making presentations where her inner thespian can emerge.
Growing up, Joey was exposed to the sawmill industry through a family business. He developed a stronger interest in the industry during college, particularly in the applications of laser scanning in sawmills. As an electrical engineer, Joey knew he could build a better laser scanner to improve recovery in many different aspects of sawmill operations. With that vision in mind, Joey founded JoeScan in 1999. Since introducing the first JS-20 scan head to the market in 2002, Joey has continued to make scanning simpler and more reliable. Joey regularly speaks at industry events, and he is committed to developing and manufacturing products that meet the demands of the forest products industry.
Hazardous Locations Team Lead
Vivek has been with Intertek for four years, specializing in Hazardous Location projects. One of his main areas of expertise is in Class II certification for dust environments.
Vice-President Sales & Marketing
Yvan enjoyed a 26-year career in the IT industry (which included 24 years at IBM) managing several business units, from hardware and software to services, attending to customer needs in multiple industries such as retail, wholesale and manufacturing in a regional and national capacity. He joined Autolog in 2013 to be part of the Executive Team. He brings a wealth of experience in customer management and execution and the level of energy to favorably position Autolog in this market for the long term.
Ryan has been part of the lumber industry for his entire career. He’s focused on understanding and developing systems to improve performance across all areas. Ryan’s responsibilities include managing the optimizer and development team. He as designed algorithms to help improve speed and reliability, and has been a driving force in the continual push for advancement in image processing.
Sylvain has been President of BGR Saws since 2003 and a member of BGR Saws since 1982. He and the BGR Saws team have developed BGR Saws from a local saw shop to a key North American player in the saw business. Sylvain’s responsibilities range from sales and market development to saw design and support in filing room. He has been involved in saw design and production for major companies in North America and has developed a broad expertise related to sawmill saws as well as product development for the sawmilling industry.
Industry Sector Manager Wood & Paper
Bosch Rexroth Canada
Rodney has been with Bosch Rexroth Canada for more than 15 years. In addition to his current position as Industry Sector Manager for Wood Pulp and Paper in Canada, he also holds the position of Canadian Sytronix Specialist. In these roles he has been very active in development for advanced motion control systems with a focus on the sawmill industry. With 30 years of experience and an education in electrical, mechanical design and engineering along with forestry practices he is well schooled in all aspects of sawmill machine control.
Casey has been with Intertek more than four years, specializing in Industrial, Field Labeling, HVAC, and Hazardous Location projects. Casey is your first person to contact with any requests and questions regarding Intertek and the services it provides.
Territory Manager/Intermountain Region
Matt has been employed in timber industry related jobs for the last 40 years, with nearly 30 years in the filing and maintenance fields. He has worked as a saw filing, maintenance superintendent and production supervisor for Idaho Forest Industries, Stimson Lumber, Weyerhaeuser, Idaho Forest Group and California Redwood Co. He also previously worked for BGR Saws in outside sales.
Richard has a Masters of Applied Science in Computer Engineering with a focus on Control of Industrial Processes. He has 12 years of experience in the wood processing industry as a controls engineer. As Vice-President of AMS Solutions, he has gained extensive knowledge of developing and commissioning sawmill and planer mill controls systems with a focus on high-speed electric and hydraulic motion control applications.
Mike has been in the sawmill industry for 41 years and has been filing saws for 38 years. He is a past president of the Western Saw Filer’s Educational Association and remains active in that association today.

Williams & White Equipment
Justin is the owner and CEO of Williams & White Equipment, a Canadian-based company specializing in the development and production of automated tool sharpening and grinding machinery and other high-tolerance components and machinery for the sawmill industry. Justin is a registered professional engineer holding a degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Commerce. Justin’s passion for robotics and automation is a driving force in Williams & White’s product development achievements. Notable achievements include the recent launch of the RoboSharp AX10L2, a highly advanced multi-function circular saw sharpening center that utilizes automation and new technology to deliver unprecedented precision and accuracy.
