TPMay16-Ad

Organizers of the third Timber Processing & Energy Expo (TP&EE) announce that attendee registration on-line is open.

TP&EE will be held September 28-30 at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Ore. It is hosted by Timber Processing and Panel World magazines, produced by Hatton-Brown Expositions LLC, and caters to primary producers of lumber, plywood and engineered wood products.

The 2014 event attracted 1,700 industry producer personnel, representing 140 wood products companies and hundreds of lumber, veneer/plywood and engineered wood products mill operations. The event also attracts an international audience, with 22 countries represented in 2014. In addition, 1,000 exhibitor personnel were on hand.

Registration options remain the same as they were in 2014, meaning the event is free for those who register on-line. Registration at the show will be $20. The other on-line options include registration along with a beer & brat ticket for $15; registration for the Lumber Manufacturing Workshop on Thursday September 29 for $75 (which includes the exhibit floor pass and a beer and brat ticket); and registration for the Veneer-Based Manufacturing Workshop on Wednesday September 28 for $75 (again including the exhibit floor pass and a beer and brat ticket).

The event is moving into Hall E, which is a third larger than Hall D, where the event was held in 2014 on the Expo Grounds. The additional space has allowed the show to increase the size of its Beer Garden to allow for more seated area. Also, the event has added German and Italian pavilions, featuring machinery manufacturers from those countries.

Register Now For The Portland Show

Organizers of the Timber Processing & Energy Expo announce that registration is now open online for the event to be held this October 15-17 at the Portland Exposition Center in Portland, Oregon. Hatton-Brown Expositions, LLC, an affiliate of Timber Processing, Panel World and Wood Bioenergy magazines, is conducting the event, which is held just off Interstate 5 between downtown Portland and Vancouver, Wash.

Held every other year, TP&EE hosted 162 exhibitor companies and their representatives, and more than 1,000 attendees from 115 forest products producing companies and 200 specific mill site operations in 2012. Visitors came from 30 U.S. states, five Canadian provinces and several overseas countries. The event caters to primary producers of lumber, panels and engineered wood products, as well as wood heating and energy operations.

Once again, the event will also include a Workshop Day, during which in 2012 more than 200 people participated in any of the 16 seminars that covered technologies in wood products production.

The 2012 TP&EE was the first Portland event to be hosted by Hatton-Brown and its affiliate publications. “Optimism was just coming back to the industry in 2012, and we expect even greater enthusiasm at our event this October,” says Rich Donnell, show director and editor-in-chief of Hatton-Brown Publishers, Inc. “If our recent capital expenditure surveys of wood products operations are accurate, there are a lot of projects and upgrades still in the works.”

Three extremely reasonable online registration options exist:

• A free 3-day pass to the exhibit hall
• A $15 pass for the 3 days that also includes a “beer and a brat” ticket
• A $75 charge for the workshop day on October 16, which includes entry to any of the presentations as well as entry for three days to the exhibit hall, and a “beer and brat” ticket

Registration at the event itself for entry to the exhibit hall will require a fee, so take advantage of this early registration opportunity.

Timber Processing & Energy Expo Expects An Even Better Event In 2014

TPEEbroch2014-cov2We happily announce that the Timber Processing and Energy Expo will be held October 15-17, 2014 at the Portland Metropolitan Exposition Center in Portland, Oregon. Following this event in 2012, our post-event survey revealed an overwhelming majority of exhibitors in favor of continuing the expo at the Portland Expo Center and of again holding it in the month of October.

If you’ll recall, our organization, Hatton-Brown Publishers and its affiliate, Hatton-Brown Expositions, jumped in to produce TP&EE at the request of many forest products industry professionals who wanted us “to give it a shot” because of our longstanding relationships with the lumber, panel and energy industries through our magazines, Timber Processing, Panel World and Wood Bioenergy.

The 2012 event included 162 exhibitor companies that used up 43,000 square feet to display and demonstrate their machinery, technologies and supplies. More than 1,000 attendees from 115 forest products producing companies and 200 specific mill site operations visited TP&EE. They came from 30 U.S. states, five Canadian provinces and several overseas countries.

The combined attendee and exhibitor attendance of approximately 2,000 was buoyed by a brightening economy and pent-up demand for forest products mill improvements. Since then, improving housing markets and forest products demand has continued to boost industry confidence, and we’re confident this momentum will carry right into our 2014 event.

Our event also featured a Workshop Day, in which more than 200 people attended any of the 16 seminars that covered technologies in sawmills, panel mills and wood energy plants.

TP&EE will again be held in Hall D, which encompasses 72,000 square feet inside, and an abundance of outdoor space as well. The overall Expo Center sits on 60 acres and includes five halls with 330,000 square feet.

Portland Expo Center is conveniently located off Interstate 5 between downtown Portland and Vancouver, Washington. It’s only minutes from the Portland International Airport and has immediate access to the Max Light Rail.

We look forward to either your continued participation or your initial experience at TP&EE.
